This award-winning coffee is grown outside of the capital city of San Jose. By adhering to strict tradition of providing the highest grades of coffee, of which Strictly Hard Bean is the highest available, This estate coffee was awarded the 1st Place Prize the 1995 Costa Rica Cupping Competition by an international panel of artisan judges.

Costa Rica over a hundred years ago, mandated that every family grow at least a few bushes of coffee on their property. Additionally, they offered large plots of land to those who would be willing to grow coffee and devote their lives to it. The result is that today Costa Ricans knows their coffee. They treat their coffee plantations as though they were fine tropical gardens. We only buy the best beans that Costa Rica has to offer!.

Bordered to the north by Nicaragua and to the east by Panama. It has both a Caribbean and a Pacific coast. A series of volcanic mountain chains runs from the Nicaraguan border in the north-west to the Panamanian border in the south-east, splitting the country in two. In the center of these ranges is a high-altitude plain, with coastal lowlands on either side. Which make perfect growing conditions for high quality SHB coffees.
